Orang Orang Cafe Roasters [오랑오랑] is tucked away somewhere in the half-deserted Shinheung Market place in Haebangchon, Seoul. People who went to this converted restaurant nearly didn’t find it and were in disbelief that a café could actually be there. But this will change as the market place is undergoing gentrification right now with Orang Orang Café being part of it. “The building was vacant for four years before I moved in”, the owner Ahn Sung-Hyun told the Korean Herald recently and further: “but I tried my best to leave the building as it is, to keep its unique characteristic.”
