The Muralist — Shawn Kerri Part 4

This is probably one of Shawn Kerri’s last works and the largest she did to my knowledge — many thanks to Dennis Quick for letting me know about this work. Judging from the billiard table standing in front of it, the mural should be at least 12m long.

It’s a mural Kerri painted in 1996 for Effin’s Pub & Grill in San Diego, which opened that same year.
It represents a typical crowd with some references to college life and alcohol in the cartoonist strokes that Kerri excelled in.

Effin’s Pub & Grill sits a little South of the San Diego State University (SDSU) campus and is a go-to bar for their students; reason why ‘SDSU’ figures also prominently on one of the characters’ t-shirts.

This is one of those incredible book finds you can only make at a very good friend’s place:

Time.Space.Meaning.

A limited edition book published by the Dutch Graffiti Library.

It’s said to be the thickest book on graffiti ever made (960 pages and nearly 2 kg of weight).
The yellow of the book refers to the trademark yellow Dutch trains; also referred to as bananas.

[Short+] Tagged Mirror by JonOne

This doesn’t look like one but it is a mirror tagged with oil paint. And, of course (?), it is not an object for proper use but an art object. I wonder how the paint sticks on the mirror and am more convinced by the more permanent, etched marks made for the Private Property Collaboration.

JonOne made two of these in 2013 and the one above is part of the 2017 exhibition Abtract Gesture at Galerie Burger Rigail in Paris — I walked past this the other day.
